If you drive a vehicle produced by Fiat Chrysler, you have probably heard the term MOPAR. This is a portmanteau that combines "MOtor" and "PARts." MOPAR is the service, parts, and customer care arm of Fiat Chrysler.
History
MOPAR officially became a brand in 1937 and used first by Chrysler. As World War II started, MOPAR focused on the war effort, just like the rest of the automotive industry. In the 1950s, it introduced a full lineup of products for Chrysler and opened the MOPAR Parts Depot in 1953.
Performance enthusiasts in the 1960s and '70s started using the term MOPAR to describe their muscle cars, and soon the brand began expanding its lineup of parts and accessories. The company was the first to offer a dedicated parts delivery system for superior dealership service.
In the early 1990s, the MOPAR College Automotive Program formed to help create a strong workforce of expertly trained technicians. In 2008, the MOPAR Express Lane came about to help streamline dealership service.
Today, MOPAR offers more than 500,000 parts and accessories for the full lineup of Fiat Chrysler vehicles. There are over 34,000 trained technicians across the world who are ready to serve you in over 150 markets.
